Had a brilliant birthday yesterday at the UK stitch and Bitch day, organised by the lovely Craig and Gerard of i Knit London.

I'm going to blog about this day properly during the week, because it deserves a proper post and I know i'm too tired to do it justice tonight! What I will say is that it was a fantastic day and Craig and Gerard did an absolutely fantastic job of organising, hosting and generally being stars!

Thank you so much for such a great day guys, everyone I talked to really enjoyed themselves and we all agreed that the atmosphere there and the feeling of meeting up with like minded people was unlike any other show. The stalls were fantastic (everything looked so natural and well produced), the people were lovely and I can't think of a way I would have preferred to spend my 29th birthday!

Hope you are both enjoying a well deserved rest, and i'll look forward to "debriefing" in the pub on Wednseday!

I'm sorry I missed your birthday. There will be something in the post by the end of the week but I had yours and Liam's birthdays muddled up.

I'm really glad you had a good day.

Belated happy birthday.

Thank you so much for being part of the day (you super deserved your credit in the programme) and we're sorry we made you work on your birthday!

I hope you had a happy birthday on Saturday! SnB day sounds like a great way to spend it. Hopefully Craig and Gerard didn't make you work to hard. ;-)

re your pattern the 'long and winding road' socks!!
Hi, I really like the socks_ but- the pattern version that I have (it came as a free download from a magazine) clearly has something wrong with it. even to the point of setting up the pattern to knit the cables! is it possible that you could let me have the pattenr that works!! as an example, the sock starts with 78 stitches, then goes to 72 and then for the cuff the instructions are as follows.. K11 (work 16 stiches from chartA) knit 12 (work 16 stuches from chart B) knit 11 (by anyones arithmetic this does not get to 72 stiches, nor does adding in a multiple of 12!! any advise? another strange thing happens when one gets to the instructions for the heel flap too, if you follow the instructions written there is no way you would end up with the right number of stiches to work with! (I am avery experienced knitter and have knitted three pairs of socks so I don't think my problems are because I can't 'read' the pattern!! I would be really grateful for some help with this!! Carole
